⚠️ IMPORTANT — NO ACCESS TO EMERGENCY SERVICES

There are important differences between our Services and a mobile phone, landline, or SMS service. Our Services do not provide access to emergency services or operators (such as police, fire, or hospitals). Make sure you can contact relevant emergency services through a mobile phone, landline, or other service.

To provide our Services through our application, we need your agreement to these Terms of Use. Please read these Terms carefully before using LibComPlus. By using LibComPlus, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept these Terms, do not use our Services.

1. ABOUT OUR SERVICES

Privacy and Security Principles

Since the creation of LibComPlus, we have designed our Services around solid privacy and security principles. Because LibComPlus enables communication in over 100 languages, including African languages, our servers must be able to read your message in order to translate it. We have therefore made a clear product choice: to offer you the best possible multilingual translation, protected by robust industry-standard encryption, with no plaintext copy retained.

Our stated positioning: LibComPlus is not an end-to-end (E2E) encrypted messaging service. Pure E2E encryption is technically incompatible with server-side automatic translation — this is a mathematical fact, not a choice. For sensitive conversations that do not require translation, dedicated messaging apps like Signal are better suited. To communicate freely in all your languages with strong protection of your data, LibComPlus is designed for you.

Our encryption works as follows, for all your conversations, monolingual or multilingual. There is nothing to enable and nothing to choose.

The content of your message is:

transmitted encrypted (TLS 1.3) to our servers,
encrypted at rest with AES-256 on our servers (keys managed by LibComPlus via Vault),
temporarily decrypted in memory only for the time strictly necessary for translation,
translated into the recipient's language,
immediately re-encrypted for transmission,
then erased from server memory.

No copy is ever kept in the clear. The content is neither indexed, nor shared, nor used to train artificial intelligence models. This is the same security standard used by leading enterprise translation services (LinkedIn, Zoom, Microsoft Teams).

The translation cache

Once a translation has been performed, its result may be stored in a shared cache, so that future requests for the same text are answered faster and at lower cost. This cache:

never contains personal identifiers (numbers, names, account identifiers),
does not link a translation to a specific user,
is purged periodically,
does not apply to media, calls, disappearing messages, or location sharing.

Connecting with Other People

We offer ways to communicate with other people in their own language, including auto-translated text and voice messages, audio and video calls with simultaneous translation, multilingual document sharing, photos, videos, and status updates. LibComPlus works with partners and service providers to bring you these features.

Communicating with Businesses

We offer ways for businesses and organizations to communicate with you in your language through our Services, including order information, product updates, and marketing messages, via our Multilingual Business mode.

Security, Safety, and Integrity

We work to protect the security, safety, and integrity of our Services. This includes combating abusive behaviors and activities that violate our Terms. We will prohibit access to any user engaging in such behavior, in accordance with the Termination section below.

Registration

You must register for our Services by providing accurate information, including your current mobile phone number. This number is your unique identifier. If you change your number, update it in the application settings.

Address Book

You may use the contact synchronization feature and provide us, where applicable law permits, with the phone numbers from your address book. This allows us to show you which contacts already use LibComPlus and suggest you invite others.

Minimum Age

You must be at least 13 years old to use our Services, or the higher minimum age required in your country. If you are under 18, ask your parent or legal guardian to read these Terms with you.

Devices and Software

You must have a compatible device, an Internet connection, and the necessary software to use our Services. By using our Services, you consent to the automatic or manual download and installation of updates.

Fees and Taxes

You are responsible for your carrier's data plans, Internet access fees, and any other fees and taxes associated with your use of our Services. LibComPlus payments (subscriptions and tokens) are made exclusively through our website libcomplus.com. No purchases can be made directly from the iOS or Android application.

2. PRIVACY AND USER DATA

LibComPlus places great importance on your privacy. Our Privacy Policy describes our data practices, including the types of information we receive and collect, how we use and share it, your rights regarding the processing of your personal information, and the technical details of the encryption applied.

3. ACCEPTABLE USE OF OUR SERVICES

Our Terms and Policies

You must use our Services in accordance with our Terms and policies. If you violate them, we may take action regarding your account, including disabling or suspending it. If we disable or suspend your account, you agree not to create another one without our authorization.

Lawful and Acceptable Use

You must access and use our Services only for lawful, authorized, and acceptable purposes. In particular, you agree not to:

Send, store, or transmit viruses or other harmful computer code
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our Services or systems
Collect information about other users in an unauthorized manner
Sell or rent our Services or data obtained through our Services
Create accounts through unauthorized or automated means
Develop software or APIs that substantially replicate our Services without authorization
Harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse other users
Distribute offensive, hateful, discriminatory, or violent content
Share sexually explicit content involving minors
Impersonate a person or organization
Create fake accounts to manipulate the referral or affiliate program
Use our Services for spam or unsolicited commercial communications

Account Security

You are responsible for the security of your device and your LibComPlus account. You must promptly notify us of any unauthorized use or breach of your account or our Services.

Moderation, reporting, and automated content analysis

LibComPlus has a zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse and exploitation material (CSAM), extreme violence, non-consensual sexual content, and incitement to hatred or violence.

Automated analysis: the images you share are subject, at the time of sending, to automated analysis intended to detect and prevent the dissemination of manifestly illegal content (see the "Protection of Minors and Content Safety" section of our Privacy Policy). By using our Services, you accept this analysis.
Reporting: you can report, from within the app, any content or user that violates these Terms. We strive to process reports within 24 hours.
Blocking: you can block any user at any time; that user will no longer be able to contact you.
Measures: we may remove any content and suspend or terminate, without notice, any account in violation. CSAM is blocked and reported to the competent authorities and organizations (in particular NCMEC and/or national authorities).

4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Our Services may allow you to access or interact with third-party websites, applications, content, and services, including data backup services. These Terms and our Privacy Policy apply only to the use of our Services. When you use third-party services, their own terms and privacy policies govern your use of those services.

5. LICENSES

Your Rights

LibComPlus does not claim ownership of the information you submit through our Services. You must have the necessary rights to that information and the right to grant the licenses set forth in our Terms.

LibComPlus Rights

LibComPlus owns all copyrights, trademarks, domain names, logos, trade secrets, patents, and other intellectual property rights associated with our Services. You may not use these elements without our express authorization.

Your License to LibComPlus

To operate and provide our Services, you grant LibComPlus a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and process the information you submit through our Services, for the sole purpose of operating and providing those Services. This license does not allow LibComPlus to access content beyond what is strictly necessary for translation in RAM, and no plaintext copy is ever retained.

Our License to You

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, and non-transferable license to use our Services, in accordance with these Terms. This license only allows you to use our Services in the manner permitted by these Terms.

6. TOKEN SYSTEM AND PAYMENTS

LibComPlus Tokens

LibComPlus uses a token system (virtual units) to bill the use of translation and artificial intelligence services. Tokens have no real monetary value outside the Application and cannot be exchanged for money.

Tokens granted at registration — once only, non-renewable, valid for one calendar month from the day they are received: tokens received on the 25th of a month can be used until the 24th of the following month inclusive; when the following month has no day matching the day of receipt (for example, tokens received on 31 January), they can be used until the last day of that month. The amount in force is shown at registration and on libcomplus.com; it stands at 100 tokens as of this version and may change, the figure announced at your registration being the one that applies.
Communication between people speaking the same language is always free — no tokens are charged (no translation needed)
Tokens are charged only for translations and AI services
Subscription tokens expire at the end of each month and cannot be carried over to the next month
À la carte purchased tokens are valid for 90 days from the date of purchase

Subscriptions

LibComPlus offers paid subscription plans with automatic monthly renewal, unless explicitly cancelled before the renewal date. Tokens included in a subscription are always offered at a better rate than à la carte purchases, to reward your loyalty.

Payments

We accept payments through the following complementary providers:

PawaPay — Mobile Money in Africa across 20+ countries. Covers in particular MTN MoMo, Orange Money, Airtel Money, M-Pesa, Wave, Vodacom, and other local operators.
Stripe — Bank cards (Visa, Mastercard) and international payments, including Apple Pay and Google Pay.

No purchase is offered inside the iOS and Android applications. Tokens and subscriptions are bought exclusively on libcomplus.com. The mobile apps are there to use the service, not to pay for it.

The choice of provider depends on your country and the payment method selected. You are redirected to the provider's secure form, or you confirm the payment on your phone in the case of Mobile Money. LibComPlus never stores your bank card data or your Mobile Money credentials. Tokens are credited or the subscription is activated only after the payment is confirmed by the provider.

Prices are shown excluding tax. The tax applicable in your country of residence is calculated and added, where applicable, at the payment step: the total amount is shown to you before you confirm, and it appears on the invoice emailed to you.

Withdrawal and refunds

Right of withdrawal. If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have fourteen days from your purchase to withdraw, without having to give a reason.

Because tokens are digital content delivered immediately, the law provides that this right lapses once you have expressly requested that immediate delivery and acknowledged losing your right of withdrawal. By confirming your purchase, you make that request. We nonetheless go beyond what the law requires: during those fourteen days, we refund the tokens you have not used.

What we refund.

Unused tokens, within fourteen days of their purchase.
The full purchase in the event of a technical error attributable to us — double charge, tokens not credited, or a service outage severe enough to make your purchase unusable.
The full purchase in the event of an unauthorised payment on your payment method, after verification.

What we do not refund.

Tokens already used: the translation, transcription or speech synthesis you started was carried out and billed by our providers.
Free, promotional or referral tokens, which involved no payment.
Tokens that have expired under the validity rules described above.

Subscriptions. You may cancel at any time from the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for: you keep access and the current month's tokens, and no further charge is made. A started month is not refunded pro rata, except during the first fourteen days of your very first subscription, where the right of withdrawal above applies.

How to request a refund. Write to [email protected] from your account's email address, stating the purchase date and the invoice number you received by email. We reply within five business days. An approved refund is returned to the original payment method within fourteen days; how quickly it then appears depends on your bank or your Mobile Money operator.

7. REFERRAL AND AFFILIATE PROGRAM

Any user can refer new members through their unique link. The referrer receives tokens upon the referee's validated registration and upon their first subscription to a paid plan. These rewards are paid once per referee.

The referrer may also receive token bonuses at certain referral milestones (according to the schedule in effect in the application). All referral rewards are exclusively in tokens, usable within the Application; LibComPlus does not pay cash commissions.

LibComPlus reserves the right to suspend rewards in case of proven fraud.

8. DISCLAIMERS AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

You use our Services at your own risk. We provide our Services "as is" without express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or freedom from viruses.

Regarding automatic translation: despite the care taken with translation quality, errors or inaccuracies may occur. You remain responsible for the use you make of translated messages, particularly in professional, medical, or legal contexts where human verification is recommended.

We do not guarantee that the information provided is accurate or complete, or that our Services will be operational, error-free, or uninterrupted. We are not responsible for the actions or information of other users. You release LibComPlus and its representatives from any claim related to the actions of third parties on our Services.

9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the extent permitted by applicable law, LibComPlus shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, loss of data, profits, or business interruption resulting from your use of our Services. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount paid for our Services in the past 12 months.

10. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

These Terms are governed by the law of the country where LibComPlus operates. For users located in the European Union, the laws of your country of habitual residence apply. For any dispute, we invite you to first contact us at [email protected] to seek an amicable solution.

11. SERVICE AVAILABILITY AND TERMINATION

Availability

We constantly improve our Services. This means we may expand, add, or remove features. Our Services may be interrupted for maintenance, repairs, or updates. We may terminate certain Services with 30 days' notice, except in emergencies (abuse prevention, legal requirements, security issues).

Termination by User

You may end your relationship with LibComPlus at any time by deleting your account from the Application settings. Deletion results in the permanent loss of your unused tokens and your data.

Termination by LibComPlus

We may modify, suspend, or terminate your access to our Services for suspicious or illegal behavior, fraud, or if we have good reason to believe you are violating our Terms. If you believe the termination of your account is erroneous, contact us at [email protected].

12. MISCELLANEOUS

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding LibComPlus and replace any prior agreement
We reserve the right to modify these Terms with 30 days' notice
We may assign our rights and obligations to affiliated companies or during restructuring operations
You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent
If a provision is found to be invalid, the other provisions remain in effect
We appreciate your feedback on our Services but you are not obligated to provide any

14. REFERENCE LANGUAGE

The French version of these Terms of Use is the official version with contractual force. This English translation is provided as a courtesy to facilitate your understanding. In case of interpretation divergence between the French version and this translation, the French version shall prevail.
