LIBCOMPLUS — PRIVACY POLICY
Version 1.1 — In effect as of September 13, 2026
Translation notice: This is an English translation of the official French Privacy Policy, provided as a courtesy. In case of interpretation divergence between this translation and the French version, the French version shall prevail (see Section 14).
The essential in one sentence — Your messages and calls are always encrypted (TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest), with decryption only in RAM for translation purposes and no plaintext copy ever retained. This is the same standard as LinkedIn, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams for professional translation. LibComPlus is not an end-to-end (E2E) encrypted messaging service because that would be technically incompatible with our core product: automatic multilingual translation.

1. LIBCOMPLUS LEGAL INFORMATION
Respect for your privacy is part of our DNA. Since the creation of LibComPlus, we have designed our Services around strong privacy principles.
Our Privacy Policy explains our data practices, including the information we process to provide our Services. It also describes the measures we take to protect your privacy — such as designing our Services so that your messages are not stored by us after delivery — and how we give you control over your communications.
Particular attention is paid to automatic translation between over 100 languages, including African languages. Because translation requires processing content, we apply a single encryption mechanism to every conversation (see Section 5).
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
The types of information we receive and collect depend on how you use our Services. Some information is required to provide our Services — without it, we cannot provide them to you.
2.1 Information You Provide
Your Account Information
You must provide your mobile phone number and a first name to create a LibComPlus account. Without this information, you cannot create an account. You can add other optional information: profile picture and biography (automatically translated into all languages, see Section 5 for how it is encrypted).
Your Messages, Media, and Calls
The encryption described in Section 5 applies to all your exchanges. Your messages are generally stored on your device and not on our servers. We store them temporarily in encrypted form during their delivery. Once delivered, they are removed from our servers. Undelivered messages are retained in encrypted form for a maximum of 30 days, then deleted.
Location Information
We use your IP address and other information such as your phone number's area code to estimate your general location (country/region) to offer you the most suitable language. You may choose to share your precise location with your contacts — this information is encrypted and LibComPlus cannot view it.
Your Connections
You may provide us with the phone numbers from your address book. This allows us to show you which contacts use LibComPlus and suggest you invite others. Contacts who do not use LibComPlus are handled in a way that does not allow us to identify them.
Information About Your Groups and Communities
You can create groups, communities, and broadcast channels. These spaces are associated with your account. You may give them a name, profile picture, and description.
Customer Support Information
When you contact us for assistance, you may provide us with information about your use of our Services, including copies of messages, application performance information, and your contact details.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage information: features used, frequency and duration of activities, online status, timestamps of last connections and activities.
- Logs and troubleshooting information: diagnostic logs, crash data, error logs, and performance reports.
- Device and connection information: hardware model, operating system, application version, network connection information (WiFi or mobile data), carrier, language, timezone, IP address, device identifiers.
- Cookies and similar technologies: to maintain your session, remember your language preferences, and analyze application usage (anonymized analytics).
2.3 Information Provided by Third Parties
- Referral information (who invited you to join LibComPlus)
- Information about users who contact you and are not in your address book
- Reports from other users about you
3. INFORMATION SHARED WITH THIRD PARTIES
We share your information to help us operate, provide, improve, and secure our Services.
With Your Recipients
You share your messages and content with the users you choose to communicate with. Once your messages are sent, your recipients may store them or share them with others. Your profile information (name, photo) is visible to your recipients.
With Our Service Providers
We work with the following providers who help us deliver our Services. All are contractually required to protect your data and use it only for the purposes for which it is transmitted to them, in accordance with our instructions.

| Stripe | International card payment processing (Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay) | Ireland (EU) / United States |
Legal Disclosure
We may disclose your information if required by law, as part of a legal proceeding, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of LibComPlus, our users, or the public.
4. HOW AND WHY WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION
Legal Bases for Processing
- Contract performance — to provide our Services (translation, calls, messages)
- Legitimate interests — to improve our Services, detect fraud, and ensure security
- Legal obligation — to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations (in particular tax obligations for payments)
- Consent — for optional processing (contact synchronization, location)
Processing Purposes
- Provide, improve, and personalize our multilingual communication Services
- Process your payments (PawaPay for Mobile Money, Stripe for cards) and manage your subscription
- Ensure platform safety and the protection of minors, in particular through automated content scanning to detect manifestly illegal content (see Section 11)
- Send you important notifications about your account
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms
- Analyze the use of our Services to improve them
- Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations
- Manage the referral and affiliate program
5. HOW YOUR MESSAGES ARE ENCRYPTED
LibComPlus has made a clear product choice: to give you the best possible multilingual translation, protected by robust industry-standard encryption. Because end-to-end encryption (E2E) is technically incompatible with server-side translation — if our servers cannot read your message, they cannot translate it — we do not offer pure E2E. Instead, we apply encryption equivalent to what LinkedIn, Zoom or Microsoft Teams use for professional translation.
Our commitment: no copy of your content is ever kept in the clear. Decryption happens in memory only, for the duration of the translation (a few hundred milliseconds), after which the content is immediately re-encrypted. Our translation processors (Azure, Google, Gemini) all operate in "no data logging" mode: none of them retains your content.
How it works, in detail
This level of protection applies automatically to all your conversations, monolingual or multilingual. There is nothing to enable and nothing to choose.
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| In transit | The message is encrypted with TLS 1.3 between your device and our servers. |
| At rest | On our servers it is encrypted with AES-256 (keys managed by LibComPlus via Vault). |
| During translation | It is decrypted in memory only — never to disk —, translated into the target language, immediately re-encrypted for the recipient, then erased from server memory. |
| LibComPlus access | Strictly limited to processing time (a few hundred milliseconds in RAM). No copy is ever kept in the clear. Content is neither indexed, nor shared, nor used to train models. |
| Processors | Depending on the language: Azure Speech Services, Google Cloud Translation or Gemini, all configured in "no data logging" mode. None of these third parties retains the content. |
| Automatic translation | ✅ Yes, across all 100+ supported languages. |
| Token cost | Per the applicable rate (see Pricing in the app). If you and your correspondent share the same language it is free: no translation is performed. |
The translation cache
Once a translation has been performed, its result may be stored in a shared cache, so that future requests for the same text are answered faster and at lower cost.
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Cache contents | Only the source text, its translation, the languages involved and technical timestamps. |
| Anonymisation | The cache contains no personal identifier: no phone number, no name, no account identifier, no location. A translation cannot be traced back to a person. It is purged periodically. |
| Exclusions | The cache does not apply to media (photos, videos, voice messages), calls, disappearing messages, or location sharing. |
| Benefit | Lower latency, reduced data usage, and reduced token cost for common phrases. |
For conversations that require pure E2E
LibComPlus does not offer end-to-end encryption in the strict sense (Signal, WhatsApp) because it is technically incompatible with server-side multilingual translation. If you need end-to-end encrypted conversations without translation, we recommend using a messaging app dedicated to that use case — Signal, for example.
6. HOW TO EXERCISE YOUR RIGHTS

8. DELETION OF YOUR INFORMATION
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete my account. Deletion results in:
- the permanent deletion of your messages from our servers (those already delivered were removed upon delivery),
- the deletion of your profile information,
- the deletion of your unused tokens,
- the deletion of your referral data,
- the breaking of cache links (your remaining anonymized cache is no longer linkable and expires normally).
Some information may be retained if required by law (in particular payment data, for 7 years).
9. MANAGING YOUR INFORMATION
You control many settings related to your information:
- Privacy settings — who can see your profile picture, your status, your last seen
- Contact synchronization — enable/disable from settings
- Notifications — enable/disable push notifications from your device
- Ephemeral messages — enable messages that disappear automatically
- Cloned voice — enable/disable and delete your voice profile
10. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
Your information may be transferred and processed in countries other than your country of residence, particularly to the United States where some of our providers are located (Google Cloud, Agora, Stripe US). These transfers are made with appropriate safeguards:
- Standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission for EU → non-EU transfers,
- Preferential EU location whenever possible (Supabase, Stripe Ireland, PawaPay Estonia),
- Contractual commitment by providers to comply with the GDPR or an equivalent level of protection.
11. PROTECTION OF MINORS AND CONTENT SAFETY
Our Services are not intended for children under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with data without your consent, contact us immediately at [email protected].
Automated content-safety scanning
To protect our users — in particular minors — and to comply with our legal obligations, the images you share on our Services (messages, statuses/moments, profile and cover photos, business content) are subject, at the time of sending, to automated analysis using detection technologies (digital fingerprinting and artificial-intelligence analysis).
- Sole purpose: to detect manifestly illegal content, in particular child sexual abuse and exploitation material (CSAM), extreme violence, and non-consensual sexual content. This analysis is never used for advertising, commercial, profiling, or model-training purposes.
- How it works: the analysis is automated and instantaneous. Detected content may undergo limited human review by our moderation team, strictly confined to this purpose.
- Measures: any content detected as manifestly illegal is blocked without notice; where required by law, it is reported to the competent authorities and organizations (in particular, for CSAM, NCMEC and/or national authorities), and may result in suspension or termination of the account concerned.
- Legal basis: compelling legitimate interest in platform safety and the protection of minors, and compliance with our legal obligations (Articles 6(1)(c) and 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Scope: your text messages are not subject to any content analysis for advertising or profiling purposes.
12. UPDATES TO OUR POLICY
We may modify this Privacy Policy to reflect the evolution of our Services and practices. In case of significant changes, we will notify you via an in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect. We will also update the "In effect as of" date at the top of this Policy. Your continued use of our Services after this period constitutes acceptance of the changes.
